Prof Yang Wei-Tse  MBBS, FRCR

Dr Yang Wei-Tse is Professor and Robert D. Moreton Distinguished Chair in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. Prof Yang has been Member of Medical Advisory Board of Seno Medical Instruments, Inc. since December 21, 2016. She is Director of the Quantitative Image Analysis Core (QIAC) and the Imaging Response Assessment Team (IRAT) and is on the executive steering  committee for the Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging.

She has received consistent external grant funding as a collaborator or co-principle investigator over the last 5 years. She is a member of the Cancer Center Strategic Grant breast group, and Women’s Moonshot (Flagship 2, triple-negative breast cancer) program.

Prof Yang championed the technique of Targeted Axillary Dissection (TAD), which ensures a false negative rate of less than 5 percent for SLND post NAC in breast cancer patients and has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed articles along with co-authoring a textbook on breast imaging.

She will give a talk on MD Anderson's experience with TAD and will also speak on her centre's research work on omitting surgery in exceptional breast cancer responders to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. She will also be giving an update on the 8th edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer Staging for Breast Cancer in another talk.
