We are pleased to announce that 5th Singapore Breast Oncoplastic Surgery Symposium (SBOSS) will be held on 19 July 2019 and will be organised in conjunction with the 2nd Breast Day Multidisciplinary Breast Meeting at the KK Hospital Training Centre, Singapore.

This time, SBOSS will be a 4-hour long workshop on therapeutic mammoplasty mark-up with emphasis on the Wise pattern mark-up. We are honoured to have Dr Stephen McCulley, renowned breast oncoplastic surgeon from Nottingham UK, and A/Prof Tan Bien Keem, Plastics Surgeon from Singapore, as lead faculty for the workshop. Dr Stephen McCulley has held several mark-up courses and is author of several peer-reviewed scientific publications on oncoplastic breast surgery. A/Prof Tan is senior consultant at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Singapore General Hospital. He is an internationally recognised speaker, clinician and researcher and has published extensively in numerous medical journals and books.

The SBOSS workshop will include :

– A pre- and post- workshop test

– Demonstration followed by hands-on mark-up on volunteers or breast model

– Examination of mark-up skill after teaching

– Certificate of achievement

– Post-workshop feedback

Participants will divided into a group of 10 for each mark-up session. During the workshop, photographs and video recording may be taken and the participants’ learning outcome may be used for research purposes.

All registered participants will be notified of their half-day workshop timings by the secretariat via email. 

By registering for this workshop, the participants fully understand and consent for the photographs / videos/ data collected before, during and after the workshop to be used by SBOSS committee for teaching, research and publicity purposes. The SBOSS committee shall use all reasonable endeavours to ensure that the participants’ identify will not be disclosed wherever these photos/ data/ videos are used for teaching sessions, academic discussions/ meetings, publications and publicity. Pursuant thereto, the participants agree not to hold the SBOSS committee liable for any consequences that may follow any such disclosure.
